Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about therapy, my approach, and what to expect when working together.

Therapy can be beneficial for anyone who wants to understand themselves better, manage difficult emotions, improve relationships, or work through specific challenges. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy — many people start simply because they want to grow.

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. I'll ask about what brings you in, your background, and what you're hoping to achieve. It's also your opportunity to ask questions and see if we feel like a good fit. There is no pressure — you're in charge of your own pace.

Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and consistency. As you progress, we may shift to biweekly or monthly sessions. The frequency is always something we decide together based on your needs and schedule.

I am currently an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance directly. However, I provide a monthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Many clients receive 50–80% reimbursement depending on their out-of-network benefits.

Yes. Everything discussed in therapy is strictly confidential. There are a few legally mandated exceptions — such as when there is a risk of harm to yourself or others — but these are rare. I take your privacy very seriously and will always explain any limits to confidentiality upfront.

Yes. I reserve a limited number of spots for clients who need a reduced fee due to financial hardship. Please reach out and we can discuss what works for your situation. I believe financial barriers should not prevent anyone from accessing quality mental health care.

The length of therapy varies greatly depending on your goals and circumstances. Some people find 8–12 sessions sufficient for focused issues, while others prefer ongoing support over months or years. We'll regularly review your progress together and adjust our approach as needed.
